Cisco Linksys Managable Switch

As described that Linksys SRW224G4 is a managable switch by Cisco. Most people are configure this Linksys switch to enable and manage the Vlan through this Linksys SRW224G4.

Lets get started !

Firstable you have to be connected to Linksys SRW224G4.
Default ip address Linksys SRW224G4 is 192.168.1.254, so you need to set your own computer ip address similar with 192.168.1.x

After you have done, check it by pinging to the device.

ping 192.168.1.254

You should see reply on the screen to continue, or else you should stop and try to check your network again.

Manage Linksys SRW224G4 using Http
Easiest way to manage Linksys SRW224G4 is using HTTP.
Open your internet browser and browse to http://192.168.1.254
But in my case, there is problem using http, I tried Firefox and internet explorer but the layout is awfull. So, I will explain using telnet.

Open your cmd prompt and type telnet 192.168.1.254 to get started.
After login screen is appear, use admin and blank password to continue.

On the System Configuration Menu screen, you can choose from the following:

The System Main Menu screen displays these choices:
1. System Configuration Menu.
2. Port Status.
3. Port Configuration
4. Help
0. Logout

You may to look around into each menus to get advance about Linksys SRW224G4.
To change this Linksys SRW224G4 as Vlan , from the main menu goes to ‘System Configuration Menu’ -> ‘Ip configuration -> ‘IP Address Settings’

There you can edit and change those values such as ‘Management VLAN’

Don’t forget to save.

One of Google’s staff, Jarkko Oikarinen is also the inventor of the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) using his Google + page to announce this Google+ Hangout new service.
